There are a number of different shapes and sizes and styles of arcade belts. Arcade offers magnetic belts, adventure belts, utility belts, and lifestyle belts. Currently, they have about 20 styles and many more colors. I have been using arcade belts for years now. If you’re thinking about purchasing one or just interested in what sets them apart, this review will help you. First off, what sets arcade belts aside from others is their low profile, flat laying buckle and strap that is out of the way. The belt is adjusted once and stays there unless you need to make adjustments. There are some downsides to the belt I’ll cover down below.
There are two different buckles. The standard clip style closure and a magnetic closure. The clip is as expected, easy to use, and reliable. I haven’t had it come undone accidentally from different movements. The magnetic closure can, in some cases, come undone if it’s pinched together In just the right movement. See the video showing how easily the magnetic closure opens and closes. If there is tension on the magnetic closure, it stays locked in place. The stretchy belt soft materials make it one of the most comfortable belts for an active lifestyle.
Some of the pros and cons of the arcade belts
As mentioned above, the magnetic closure on rare occasions can come open. If this is a concern, I would suggest going with the more traditional belt. Another Worth mentioning is feeding the belt through belt loops can be a bit more difficult than a thicker, stiffer belt. It just requires threading it through Your belt loops with more precision, As opposed to a thick leather belt that can easily be guided through belt loops.
Overall, arcade belts have been some of my favorites to wear, especially when adventuring, biking, or on ski and snowboard pants. Because the belt is soft and offers some elasticity, It’s more comfortable than traditional belts. It flexes and moods with the body, more freely. It’s easy to make adjustments and it stays locked in the perfect length unless adjustments are needed.
